Where has time gone?

I cannot believe I sit here next to my Christmas tree that is now bare underneath for one of the last times this year.  How is 2018 almost over?  How is there only four full days left of this year?  What a whirlwind it has been!  I suppose time flies when you’re having fun, right?

But honestly I feel all over the place!  I keep getting on the healthy train and then jumping right off every time my schedule goes awry, which has been a constant issue this year!  It’s all been great distractions but distractions nonetheless.  So much free traveling this year, and some business trips as well our annual family vacation to the beach.  I swear I have been on a plane more in the last two years than I have in my entire life, LITERALLY!  Before my business, I had only been on a plane once for a business trip with my old corporate job.  I have been on one three times this year and only paid for one of those flights thanks to my little home business!  I will be boarding another in just a few weeks to an invitation only leadership kickoff in San Antonio, Texas, to which of course I have never been.  We are staying at a beautiful resort and I cannot wait to see old friends, make new ones, and learn lots of awesome things to help myself and my team!  But in the meantime, I started back on the healthy train and am trying to be better about my own skincare routine.

So I got the full system again, but this time with the new Power Greens added in because let’s be real, I don’t eat a ton of veggies!  At least I know with this I can get all my veggies in as well as manage my cravings with the pea plant protein shakes!  I wish I had started this a tad bit sooner since I will see all my peers soon in Texas, but shoulda-coulda-woulda, right?

So remember how I mentioned I was all over the place…so this is what has taken place with my skincare corner (and cosmetics I suppose).  I just love trying new things and we had so many new fun products this year!  I actually use everything pictured, just not all at once.  I tend to use the same regimen for about two weeks then switch one or two things up, especially as seasons or temps change.  Right now I am loving my super hydrating Hydra Fusion products!  They have the lightest but pleasant fragrance and feel so good on my skin and under makeup!  They were made with some wonderful ingredients to really boost plumpness and get needed hydration into your skin and retain it!  We have an under eye depuffer that has a ceramic tip and feels so good going on tired eyes before bed!  Also, the gel moisturizer is so light and airy but leaves skin so soft and supple!  We now also have a day lotion with SPF 50 that is great with or without makeup!  SPF is so important year round; just because it is cold out doesn’t mean the sun stopped having rays…be smart and use an SPF daily!  I love day creams and lotions with SPF added and our foundation and primer also has SPF so I feel confident going outside everyday that my face is protected!  I always add my Wrinkle Corrector to my skincare routine in the winter because it is super luxurious and acts as a wrinkle fighter PLUS moisturizer so it’s like a double whammy deal!  I love deals, don’t you?  And one of our game-changers this year…THE UNLIMITED LASH SERUM!!  Made with botanicals and peptides but free of those nasty things like parabens, sulfates, and phthalates and a fraction of the cost of other lash serums, this little number has been a life changer for some!  Women who haven’t had lashes in years for various reasons documented growth and can now feel confident batting their eyes!  I used it not only on my lashes but on my brows because they were so thin and sparse, partly because I am blonde but also from some ill-advised over-plucking!

Very soon, and I mean so soon I can taste it, we have even more new body and skincare advancements coming and I.can’t.wait!  The best part of it all, it’s all affordable enough the hubby won’t question you and you can stock up without feeling guilty!  Be sure to register on my site here you don’t miss any deals!

Out with the old and tired, in with the new and fresh!

What a quick summer!  But gosh if it wasn’t packed with fun and good memories!  I tried to be sure the kids had some fun and spent some time with friends this summer and also squeezed in some work!  Working from home is clearly fabulous, but if you let it, you can get wrapped up in it so you definitely have to find a good healthy balance of work and family!  I will say, I was so busy making memories and building my business that we have accumulated some excessive clutter and disorganization at the house, and not just with things but with ideas and thoughts, too!  Also, I may have cluttered up my gut and arteries with the kid-friendly diet we enjoyed all summer!

So, today is the first day back to school for the kids and it honestly is a bit bittersweet for me.  I certainly need to gain some control and order back and I know they are both excited to be seeing friends and making new ones, but it’s only been a few hours and Bruno and I already are feeling unnerved by the extreme quiet in this house!  Also, it was a another benchmark day for our son as he walked through the doors of middle school for this first time today.  My, how time has flown by!  My little bald baby is now growing into an adolescent young man.  How did this happen??  And our sweet baby girl is really coming into a beautiful yet spunky personality!  I am so blessed to be able to enjoy these summers and after school now.  Sunday marked the 2nd anniversary of when I presented my notice to my old employer, and while I remember the office, employees, and work, I find it difficult to remember not being home with the kids now.

So with the passing of the anniversary and the kids going back to school, I decided it was time to let go of some old and tired things and habits, and start fresh and new!  First things first, my health!  Again, we had a very kid-friendly diet this summer and I just returned from our national convention where we certainly were enjoying the food and cocktails!  My waist is not visible and my legs are swollen and I know very well that 1. it is totally my fault 2. it was so worth it but 3. I need to start making a few small changes to fix the issues and feel better!  So while packing up Abby’s lunch last night, I also prepared my overnight oats to start on a good note today.  Along with actually having breakfast this morning, I felt like I needed a reboot so I added in a great cleanse to kick off a healthy regimen and lots and lots of water!  I did take a waist measurement and pounds and plan to check again after the gentle three-day cleanse.

Once I am done with the cleanse I will begin the rest of the Metabolism Boost Regimen and make some adjustments to my eating habits but don’t intend to follow a diet.  My good friend and health coach agrees that dieting is setting yourself up to fail while slowly learning better habits and just being mindful of what you put in will yield longer last results.  However, I also know that a little natural boost from the products on the regimen will only help me on this path to feeling and looking healthier!  And of course, I can’t forget the water!

Now that I have my health plan mapped out, I need to de-clutter my schedule and my brain which, oddly enough, I don’t feel prepared to do until I de-clutter my home.  I will be choosing a room and common area to work on each week.  It’s scary to figure out what to let go, but one thing I have always been great at is looking ahead, not backwards. While some things may seem hard to let go of, the feeling of doing so it quite freeing!  Like you are not only ridding of the physical clutter around you but letting go of the clutter in your mind at the same time.  Less clutter in your mind means less stress and more productivity!  I will say, I have doubts on most items I want to let go of.  What if I need that even though we haven’t touched it in a year?  What if I lose 50 pounds and can get back into those jeans from high school?  What if body glitter comes back in style?  What if I need to read that book again, even though I have read it twice and haven’t grabbed it in two years?  These are only a few random thoughts I get as I plan to de-clutter, but I will stop myself and say if it is not a tax document we need to hold onto and has not been touched in six months, it is time to let it go, let it go, it can’t hold me back anymore!  Yes, I have a young daughter and just went there.  I also like to set a goal of one room and one common area a week so I don’t overwhelm myself by pretending I will get it all done immediately!  When we get overwhelmed, we delay and defer!

I can’t just ignore my business while I am working on my health and home, so I will also plan to purge my products (I honestly don’t buy much inventory as we aren’t required to, but always seem to earn things or may have a leftover of a bundle here and there).  I already started that process but have a long way to go.  Once I slim that down I can begin clearing my office space that my husband so graciously built for me and I haven’t used in months!  In the meantime, I will organize my notebooks and be sure I am properly updating my planner with all appointments, not just my normal weekly tasks.  I am great at my Sunday night planner update, but have been horrible at adding appointments as they come in!  With our current incentive of a $10 startup for new reps, I definitely need to get organized and fast!  We have had some very explosive growth more quickly than I ever imagined and I want to be sure to support these folks as best I can!

I don’t know anyone…

I always hear from people I discuss my business with that it is so great for me but they don’t have time, which I hit on before, but also that they don’t anyone who would buy from them.  I felt the same way when I started, but I also was prepared to find new people who needed awesome products so I didn’t let it stop me.

But what I quickly realized is the people I knew already did, in fact, want to buy from me!  Most were crazy excited when I mentioned my new venture and jumped all over it!  So, I was pleasantly surprised to have a built-in customer base!  I was so afraid they would think I was being salesy or pushy that I didn’t immediately mention it to those I saw regularly but thanks to my sister, everyone found out!  So while I intended to find strangers to sell to, my friends and coworkers ended up buying a good bit so I was doing much better than expected because I completely didn’t count on those extra sales!

friends

Everyone has friends that want to help them.  Case in point-a good friend of mine that has bought from me since my very first order, as well as brought me tons of referrals over the years, always told me she just liked helping me out when I would mention starting her own business.  And I certainly enjoyed those orders and all her help!  But recently, she made a comment that opened a door to discuss the opportunity again.  Long story short, she joined the next day!  I was so excited for her and knew she would do so great, but she was concerned she wouldn’t hit her first incentive goal because there was only one week until her order day.  I told her she will at least double what she brought to me normally and she looked at me like I was crazy, which is totally fair!  But I explained that the folks she brings me orders for don’t personally know me, they just like the product and know she can get to me.  But the moment she goes to the same group of people and announces she is now the rep, her friends and family will be so excited for her and want to help her that they will end up placing more orders than normal.  She still thought I was crazy but said she would let her friends know.  The week passed and she didn’t double the normal orders she brought to me…SHE TRIPLED THEM!!  The sheer joy on her face and the pride she had in herself was amazing to witness.  Moments like that make me proud to do what I do.  So, moral of the story, everyone knows someone and if you have friends, you will have customers!  When the fee is $25, what exactly do you have to lose??  Go start now here!

No Time for That

I think it’s fair to say we are all guilty of spewing the ole, “I don’t have time for that,” line, especially when being asked to do something we don’t want to do.  But from time to time, I have to evaluate what I am doing that leaves me with such little time.  For instance,  I told hubby I didn’t have time to put the laundry away, I was just swamped.  However, as I replay the day in my head I recall scrolling FB for quite some time after making my necessary calls and texts in the morning….

FB

I hear people constantly saying they need extra money, but when I approach them with my fabulous opportunity the most used rejection is, “I don’t have time for that.”  Those same people continue to complain about their financial situation while also posting on FB how they binge watched three seasons of their new favorite show in two days and send me requests for extra lives on games I didn’t even know existed.  I get it, those games are addictive and that is exactly why I don’t play them!  I have folks say they don’t have time for a skincare regimen.  Well, it takes all of a minute to wipe your makeup off with our wipes and another minute to throw on some moisturizer but hey, if you want to deal with the deep wrinkles later because you didn’t want to head to bed a few minutes early, that’s ok, we have a cream for that, too!

I began my business while I was working a FT job and my kids were one and five.  Yes, I had to fit it into an already hectic schedule, but at the time we needed a little extra for bills so I made it work.  Over time, the business turned into something so much more for me.  It became an opportunity to not only be home with my children, but continue to contribute to my household financially.  Eventually, with some planning, scheduling, and lots of great people along the way I left that job.  Now, do not mistake the term “work from home” as “chilling at the crib”.  I still have to work, I just get to do it when I want.  And when I say work I mean talk on the phone with friends while collecting their orders or chatting with a new team member about how they can earn some extra or make a plan to be home with their children.  So, next time you are about to complain about your situation, stop and think about how many hours you spend on TV, FB, or the worst…Pintrest…If you have 5-10 hours a week, you have time to build a business.  And for $25, what do you really have to lose?  Curious, click here and complete the form!

Business+Family=Happiness

So the first week of the kids on summer break has come to a close.  Shockingly, I am still alive!  In fact, it went better than expected!  I set a few chores, or tasks if you will, to have them work on daily to earn their screen time and to keep them entertained while momma got business done.  For the last nine months, I worked on a schedule which consisted of them being at school for six hours every weekday and then would pick up team trainings and calls after the hubby came home from work.  So, I admittedly was concerned that them being here all day everyday was going to slow down progress on the business.  That was quite opposite of how the week went!

Our first day, they both popped from bed and did their first set of tasks then came to the kitchen for breakfast.  They then both picked up their rooms, helping each other at that, read, colored, drew, went outside, and helped momma prepare dinner.  They did this again the second day.  All the while, momma scheduled deliveries, helped a few online customers, completed some YouTube videos (subscribe to my channel here so you don’t miss anything), and helped some new team members get their new orders entered.  The kids did catch a break when I made deliveries by heading to a friends house and to see their Nanny, my momma.  I even squeezed in a celebration dinner with our team on the south side of town, but the long day and drive were so worth it!  We wrapped up our week by enjoying some bowling with friends and a few more customer visits.  All just in time to grab some carry out pizza and enjoy my favorite show.  So, I survived the first week of summer break and I believe the kids had a great time.  I can’t wait to do it all over again next week!
